To people who compare it to past iterations and how different it is, that is the point. It can be different, take some creative liberties. It is a new series, it can take creative liberties. Besides, it wasn't the only series to do this. In 2012 they slightly changed the turtles design instead of them being cartoon copies of each other, made April a teen, gave HER SUPERPOWERS, and made her be a love interest. This 3D animated series was so different to its past iterations, so why can't Rise do the same?
The 2012 series was dark, so Rise is a nice breath of fresh air, a similar feel to the 1987 cartoon. And people complaining about Raph being the leader and Splinter. The name is called 'RISE.' They aren't 'there' yet, things will change. Same with Splinter. The 2012 Splinter was seen as a wise and powerful character with no flaws. But Splinter in Rise gains the audiences trust, and that is a more impactful move.
You may not like Rise, and that is fine. But don't make your argument based around past iterations because of how different it is. That is the point. It can be different to further stretch the TMNT name. Give it a try and don't be completely masked by nostalgia.
