Anne Spring

I watched this film this week and was really affected by it. There are so many themes to think about. It’s not just the response to a sudden death, but also the relationship between Jesse and his father and the contrast with Leslie and her father. There was also the depiction of the small rural community and how it had shaped the inhabitants, the influence of church etc. I was impressed with the way Leslie responded to bullying. The actors were very good especially Jesse and Leslie, understated but very believable. A lovely lovely film, sad but with opportunities for growth and reflection.
