I'd give this movie an 8/10 0r 4/5.
Seeing these reviews and reviews on other apps are mainly about how they thought the film was disturbing but you shouldn't base your review on that, because it being disturbing does not mean the film is bad.
I am a very picky person and it takes a lot to impress me but after weeks of searching for good small films to watch I was satisfied at reaching the end of this movie. The movie has great symbolization that takes a lot for someone to understand but when you do its quite amusing, also just having your brain try to uncover the meaning behind the symbol is fun to me. The suspense at the end was amazing, mainly because everything was done in a calm manner from the beginning, the deer, the hangouts, the romance and even during the first *murder* scene, although it was dark it was taken care of quite calmly and easily, so the suspense at the end really got to you. I like how it gave off indie vibes and there was more conveyed through the characters with touches or movements than words (Pay attention to that its very important :)). Reason why I deducted one star or two points from the 8/10, was because there were times I wondered "Where is this going?" a lot of things seemed stretched out and at times you ask yourself if it was really necessary, the truth is is that it was necessary to have all those details but a lot of movies have the ability to not make it feel stretched out but this film did not have that. Another thing is, its missing a lot. Although its fun to get your brain working on tying all the ends of the movie I would have liked it if there was more detail to the ending, like on josh and Zach, Zach's mom, daryl, daryl's mom and the blue haired boy.
However, even though I felt like this, like I was confused where it was going or why it was taking so long, every time I feel like that during a movie, I immediately get bored and give up. But for some reason I couldn't with this movie because I was determined to see the end of it. Even if a watcher would skip to the end they'd be dissapointed and shocked and have to return for all the clues and answers. Overall its a good film to watch on a Saturday night with cans of rootbeer and a bowl of ice cream and fruits and your dog next to you.
