ಬಹಳ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುವ ಪುಸ್ತಕ. ಲೇಖಕರು ಕಥೆಯ ಉದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಹಲವಾರು ತಿರುವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಓದುಗರನ್ನು ತಲ್ಲೀನವಾಗಿರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನಗೆ ೪-೫ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಬೋರಾಗುತಿತ್ತು. ಆ ವರ್ಣನೆಗಳು ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿದವು. ಸುರೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರಿ ಕಥೆಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು. ನನಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ ಭಾಗವೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ರೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸುರೇಶನು ಕಾವ್ಯದ ಒಗಟನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದು. ಬಹಳ ಕುತೂಹಲಕಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ರೋಮಾಂಚನಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ಕಾಡಿನ ವರ್ಣನೆ ಮನೋಹರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಓದಿದಮೇಲೆ ನಾವು ಕೂಡ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಸೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಗೌರಿಯ ಪಾತ್ರ ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಯಿತು. ಅವಳ ಧೈರ್ಯಶಾಲಿ ಮನೋಭಾವವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸುರೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರಿಯ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯು ಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗು ಸೊಗಸಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನನ್ನ ವ್ಯಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಆ ಕಡತವು ಮುಳುಗಿಹೋಗಬಾರದಿತ್ತು. ಅವರು ಕೆಂಪು ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಥೆಗೆ ತೆರೆ ಎಳೆದಹಾಗೆ ಇರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

Okay, I actually really liked this book. It's a good read but I didn't like some parts. SPOILERS AHEAD Harry and Ron were really out of character from the original series. Harry disrespecting McGonagall?! He would not do it even in a different life. And he also said he didn't need Dumbledore while we all (and Harry himself) know the truth. Basically, Harry and his son, Albus were acting like a**holes throughout. And Voldemort has a child?!?! And other stuff... As for the good parts, Scorpius was a great character and such a cinnamon roll. The writing on the blanket thing was a cool idea. Liked the alternate reality plots too. This book can be called as good if you ignore the gaping plot holes and contradictions to canon. Best read by treating it as separate from the series.
