Loved the authenticity even if they played loose on a few facts. The actors Matt Damon and Christian Bale even had a very close resemblance to Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles . Only slight disappointment that Ken`s co-driver at Le Mans , kiwi Denny Hulme , was given no recognition being almost non-existent. Top movie for car buffs and non car buffs alike [ my wife also loved this film . ]

One of a kind - BRILLIANT ! Characters that exemplify the human spirit displaying the good and not so good foibles that we all share.

From the opening monologue The Twilight Zone exudes a sense of the fantastic that makes this program highly entertaining with superb script , filmed in black and white that adds a forbidding atmosphere to the already eerie story lines . Watched this in 1959 as a kid and it remains one of my all-time favourite tv series.

Even by Hitchcock`s standards this is a quirky movie that doesn`t hold back on explicit violence. I feel it is a movie that has been under rated but not by me . I like it`s setting in a large fruit and veg market and that the leading man comes across as not a very likeable person but the villain is personable to a fault . Good MOVIE.

Didn`t know i was a bit of a claustrophobic dude until i watched The Descent . With them girls squeezing through narrow openings in the cave underground and frequently getting stuck made me feel positively sick in the stomach. The inhabitants of the cave though lacking social graces weren`t that bad .Bald , blind and with freckled pale skin they spent most of the time crawling around on all fours , kind of reminded me of myself. A few bloopers such as when the cave dude gripped the skull of one of the women and didn`t even realise he had her kind of makes a mockery of their supposed hunting prowess and when the cave dudes passed so close to flaming torches it would have singed their eyebrows if they had any , yet failed to recognise that burning sensation as something completely alien to normal cave life . Entertaining movie .

I remember leaving the theatre after viewing James Bond in Dr. No and being totally entertained and influenced by this movie to the extent of buying a new suit that closely resembled the one that Sean Connery wore. I was only 16 and had just started my first job so that purchase was extremely expensive considering my meagre pay packet. This film had everything , a ruthless tough hero who attracted a bevy of beautiful women , exciting action and memorable theme music that was just perfect for this movie. It made me a James Bond fan for life.

The Shadow is criminally under rated . It captures the comic book feel without feeling like a cheap throw away . It absolutely captures the 30`s era with beautiful sets , costumes and fabulous cars along with a simple but effective narrative with all the cast giving their characters real substance without going over the top . The Shadow is no goody - two - shoes and is not averse to bumping off some of the miscreants who really deserve it, making him an anti-hero giving him more substance . Love this movie ,

Cannot understand this film`s 7.6 rating , it is deserving of a much higher rating . Consider other movies of the 50`s and the special effects alone put it in a class of its own . As a 9 year old watching this film on the big screen in a city cinema in Adelaide i was totally transfixed by the action and colour although i was a bit too young to fully appreciate Ann Francis`s swimming prowess without her gear on.

Entertaining movie with the cast doing an ok job acting wise but it is brought down a couple of levels due to some rather silly premises . For instance 1. Ed complains about his cut of the loot as the reason for his double cross at the end of the movie . Surely professional thieves would have come to an agreement prior to the robbery re the share each member is entitled to. 2 Ed running with the dummy wooden sceptre on his back would immediately notice the weight differential between a solid METAL sceptre and a wooden one. 3. A dejected Ed is identified by the police and on the run with nothing to show for his efforts save a life lesson lecture by De Niro. WRONG, a guy as smart as Ed would realise his capture was imminent so he has nothing to lose but De Niro and Brando have . Threaten them with a quick call to the FBI and extort money out of them while he can , actually Ed holds all the aces not the other way round. Only a few , there`s more.

Definitely on the decline in the standards of script writing and acting which is sad because it was a terrific show early on but is lurching towards becoming a bit of a soap opera . Get back to realistic story telling and stop trying to over indulge in the " too smart for your own good " stakes.
