While the aesthetics might not be up to everyone's taste the gameplay itself is superb.
It captures the essence and charm of older rpg games and if you give it a little time I'm sure you'll find yourself drawn in.
Nowadays It seems like I don't finish most games anymore...but that wasn't the case with KoTC. It kept me hooked to the end and to this day I still replay it every now and then :).
