Fascinating, educational, and don’t let this deter you, heartbreaking. Think about this series all the time with a heavy heavy heart. Michael Keaton is fabulous as usual.

It’s such a dramatic story, including the sweating disease that killed thousands and thousands and has so much meaning now. But showtime thought it wasn’t interesting enough and had to add sexual scene after sexual scene which diminished the story as well as being contemporary and not historical. Why were they afraid this fascinating story wasn’t enough? Dumbs us down.
