While I can't give this movie five stars with good conscience, I must say as a die hard Star Wars fan (and a fan of the sequel trilogy) I truly enjoyed this movie. I decided early on to not critique the plot and just go with it wherever it led and I found myself on the whole satisfied. Sure the flow of the plot is uneven and ridiculous but I thought back to the original Star Wars and how endearingly bombastic the story is. To me this movie is just as ridiculous and just as endearing for it. If you weren't a fan of the characters in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi then you are not going to enjoy the movie as much. I enjoyed being with those characters so much and I got immersed in the movie in a different way because of it. While bringing Palpatine back is kind of a stretch I think it ties all three trilogies together in a good way. To me this movie felt like Star Wars and that's all I could ask for.
