Yes, the acting was good but I felt like I was watching really good acting. A truly great film makes you forget you are watching a movie. That didn't happen here.
Also, why couldn't the movie have a happy ending for him, too, such as having him finding a wonderful woman who drew out the young boy.
I thought it was good but not great.
