Such a beautiful film based on Yu Hua's book of the same name. A friend at university recommended it to me for the first time, and then a great professor played it for our class. The movie has been banned by film censorship in China. I watched it again recently. I feel good how once in a while I could let my tears fall without control and my throat gets tightened. The tears are sympathy for the characters living in tragic situations, as well as for their spirits for fighting to live. Yu Hua's book is also enjoyable to read. Like a friend is telling stories. It caught my heart easily just like reading his other books.♥
