Cheesy lines and overly dramatic dialogue prevent a build of any true tension. As usual, DC have tried way too hard to be edgy and any violent or gory scenes come across as comical. Unfortunately, it is clear that this is not what they were aiming for, and along with some dreadfully underexposed shots and generic directing, this show falls flat in many of its targeted areas. At very least, I found the ridiculousness of some lines of dialogue and the misfiring action scenes amusing and at very least, entertaining.

Went in wanting to like it. Unfortunately though, the story is very by-the-books, the world is a b-grade version of 'Mad Max' and the action has an over-reliance on CGI removing any weight from it. The acting, particularly from our central protagonist, 'Priest guy' (played by Paul Bettany) and antagonist (Karl Urban), frustrated me with the two playing it overly dramatic and seriously for what the script presented them with. It could have been made into a fun '80's-esque' romp if both were self-aware enough and hammed up their performances. Overall, a mediocre film who undermined any sort of creativity of the source material (a Korean Comic) with a lousy script, weightless action and zero notable performances from their cast. Put on in the background if its on TV, otherwise, just give it a miss.
