I think this movie is an underrated gem. Do not just watch the movie at its basic aspect and think what a stupid movie it is. The movie genuinely shows what true India is. We believe in harmony, but all of us have this inherent hatred still for each other leading to communal violence. The portrayal of Sonam's life shows the contrast of New modern India and the still stuck behind mindsets of Old Delhi. The movie depicts India in its honest truth. The society still believes in superstitions. We are so used to sensationalized news that we believe in things like a Kala Bandar, whereas the matter of fact is that the Kala Bandar is still inside us after all these centuries. The movie shows how if all of us come together, we are also the united India all of us want to believe in. When Abhishekh says, India works, the people work!, I could resonate to it. We do have the potential because we have both the good and evil in us. Its the people in power who are always ready to corrupt us. In my opinion, this movie takes a comical way to show the true face of the society of India, which has a leg stuck in the past, and the other in a modern futuristic India. It depicts how superstitious we are, and how pure hearted we are at the same time.
