Second Life can be very dangerous to one's health! Many people, who work from home, do not work, are disabled etc. become extremely addicted to this game and begin to neglect their health, family, the real world period. I know many people in SL who are cheating on their real world spouses with another Second Life player. I know Mothers in SL who ignore their children to play a virtual reality game! I also know many people who become housebound and very unhealthy as they become so obsessed with their second life that that stop exercising, eating healthy or doing "normal" things for their health and well being. If you are a person who can maintain balance and not allow yourself to become obsessed and addicted to Second Life, then it can offer a lot of entertainment and outlets for creativity. If you are trying to escape the real world due to a mental illness or some other reason, strongly consider if you want to start this game. It is both addictive and extremely expensive. Beware!
