Just finished watching 'The Good Fight', a series on a black law firm based in Chicago. It's a political series which deals with racism, the Trump administration and ultra rights - it's witty, well- written and the actors are very good. I thought I would give Harlem a go. Gosh, what a mistake. Harlem is a poor pastiche of Sex & the City (which I loved) - it isn't funny, but plain and coarse. This show is meant to represent modern, urban, successful black women, but instead the characters are stereotyped and shamelessly rough. It's badly written and the acting is awful. If you're after a series which talks about racism, the place of black people in modern society and successful women, don't waste your time with Harlem, but watch The Good Fight.
