Wonderpark is a story of a young girl who lost her way after losing touch with someone dear to her; and has to fight for the only thing that makes her world speldiferious.
so thatโs my non-spoiler version. If you donโt want anymore spoilers, do not read further.
The creative child June and her mother have been creating the most amazing amusement park, which several code violations; and talking animals. The mother holds a huge part in Juneโs creativity, and encourages her imagination... as long as it โdoesnโt destroy the neighbourhood.โ
I like that the parents donโt want to belittle imagination in favor of reality. I also like that they help her with making minatures of the rides that would be in this Wonderland. And itโs beautiful to see that teamwork with the parents and their child. Encouraging the ingenuity as the movie goes on.
We see June struggle with her creativity as she starts noticing her motherโs condition, which worsens as time continues. After her mother has to leave to a facility where she can get treated for what seems to be heavily implied; Cancer; and June has difficultly keeping ahold of that โlight shining withinโ.
As time continues, and childhood paranoia takes hold. June worries more about her father and him possibly taking a turn for the worst. Which eventually leads her to skipping math camp, to get home. As much indepence as this child has, i would never recommend walking through the woods alone. ever.... Also Head counts are important!
and monkey dolls are scary.... especially with picks and explosives.
Well anyway i wonโt say much more, but I felt it was similar to the neverending story, just watered down. Otherwise, it was good. see it for yourself.
