A horror film through and through. What j really enjoyed about this film was how it was shock horror (jumpscares) and also psychological horror. There were many times where you'd see the characters interact with their memories and you'd expect a jumpscare and brace for impact only to not see anything. And then when all is calm, and you know the monster is behind him, the scare happens and you're still somewhat scared. Another part I really liked was how cinematic this was, again with interesting camera techniques that looked really cool and made you forget about the scare for a second as you admired how it was presented. The cinematography was also on point because it gave you hints to when the scare was going to happen or when it wasn't, and I enjoyed the game it played with the audience. And lastly, being both a pro and a con, was the humor. It mainly comes from Eddie and Ritchie, as it did in Chapter 1, but here it was so oddly timed. In the middle of the scare scenes, they'd pop a joke or a jab and it was actually funny. Partly because you'd be confused as to how they had the time to think about a joke while being chased by It. I really liked the bad timing of the humor but it was also a weird way to do comic relief and I thought it was hit or miss at times. But the movie was great, enjoyable, truly scary, and even funny. Definitely a watch if you've seen Chapter 1, more scarier than the prequel and doesn't have a weak ending like the first one did.
