The concept of time travel is nothing new but the adventures of those that do it can be fascinating.
Without giving away too much
Both time travellers wanted to change the time line, and failed. This is the fault of Gabaldon who instilled knowledge of the future in them and then endowed them with incredible stupidity. Invariably the characters had to make the wrong decision due to the authorโs inability to design an alternate history. How much more interesting it would have been if Culloden had not happened.
Where did Claire get all of her clothes? A bag of holding? Money too?
The intersection of characters kept surprising us, too much - too contrived.
Too much sex. Maybe the books are soft porn?
No indication that the time travellers used their advanced knowledge to change the time line in any way. Both women could have made substantial changes but no effort made.
The dialogue and decision making of the characters is sometimes so stupid it was laughable. Often found myself laughing when no humour was intended due to the horrible story telling.
Some events defy belief and you just have to let it go (for example, Geillisโs remarkable escape from being burned alive as a witch, Jamie rescuing drowning Claire in the ocean)
This is not a series that I would finish. Gave up.
