Not exactly what I expected, Jim Carrey’s version is still the best in my opinion. Benedict’s voice acting was great! It was the story that felt a little oddly paced, slow in spots and fast in others. The animation felt like it was using models and rigs from Despicable Me, and the jokes had been done time and time again, nothing really new. I went in expecting something much better out of these guys. And unlike Jim’s version, there wasn’t a very good wrap up to the story as it left loose ends and gave the audience a dry happy ending that felt like a cop-out after stressing that Cindy wanted to help her mother.
