Had a family outing with my husband and two teens. It was a great time out. Being a NZ born Samoan couple, we were blessed with growing up in the rich cultural tapestry that we were part of. Our teens are Aussie born Samoa, although they have different experiences, they still pride themselves in being Samoan. But this story went beyond my expectations. It's a story of love, devastating heart break, depression, overcoming adversities, recognising your personal struggles, finding and accepting oneself again. The actor's in this film - including the background actor's did an absolutely wonderful job in bringing this story to life. Seeing my daughter weep and my son mili lima, it really felt like a film that spoke across the generations. I would recommend this film to anyone & everyone. If you can't afford to go to the movies, than wait for the movie to come out on streaming, but don't look for those sneaky downloads. Save those actions for the big Hollywood films 🤣 jk. But I hope you get the chance to see the film at the movies for a great time out & to support the film. Oh, I think if I had any critique, it would be subs - they weren't there throughout the film where needed. We were okay, we didn't need them, but to help those who aren't Samoa speakers, this will no doubt help them. Especially during the singing & a few other scenes 😀

To be honest, I have only ever seen the first F&F film when it first came out & I don't really remember it so I saw this film as a stand alone film. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. From the dynamic action, to the vastly different and contrasting scenes to the surprising yet fun cameos. I felt this film was definitely worth the price of my ticket & would happily recommend this film to anyone who likes action films. Usually movies that boast a lot of action, also has a lot of boring drama, but I felt this movie had just enough action to keep my eyes open from beginning to the end. Idris Elba was a great villain in this flick. He kept his cool & I was super impressed with how respectful the bad guys were to allow Hobbs & his brothers to have their intro to the fight lol. Let's be honest m, I was waiting for the mum to come out and offer Idris & his crew an ipu ki & pai fala lol. I loved the scenes in London. Although her role was small, you can never go wrong when Helen Mirren us in a film. I loved that the film took us to Europe, a café in America and then to Samoa. Granted the music they used to introduce Samoa was a Tokelau song - but still, I loved it. I have never heard the word USO used so many times in a 15 - 20min space before, I'm just glad they didn't use UCE LOL! This film really had a strong message of family and loyalty. It's great to see that even if we have different cultural backgrounds, we all have drama and love with & for our family. Anyway, this was a very pleasant film & I really hope there is a Hobbs & Shaw 2 from this.
