It was like watching a 12 year old boy’s fever dream. It must be for super fans, because as a casual marvel viewer, I was incredibly confused then bored as a result. Inside jokes and cameos replaced a cohesive storyline. I’m assuming the film depended on viewers having a deep understanding of marvel cannon. There were many characters and sub plots that went unexplained. For example, why was Blade in the void? I must have missed a crucial film or episode explaining his relevance, because this film sure didn’t. I admit there were some great comedic moments like the nice Deadpool saying “The Proposal.” But I just can’t get over the fact that this film cannot stand on its own. If I had zero marvel knowledge or never watched a marvel film before, I could still enjoy a film like X-Men, or Guardians of the Galaxy. They’re individually great films. Deadpool and Wolverine just cut too deep for me. It’s not enjoyable for a casual marvel fan.

Profound. There’s a lot more depth to this film than the previews let on. Friends gave this film bad reviews and said I shouldn’t waste my time. Thus, I waited until it was free to stream. I wish I hadn’t listened to them. The message of our environmental impact and the impending doom of our race is an important message which needs to be regularly revisited, lest we become too comfortable in our lives of convenience and leisure. T’was a pleasurable surprise. I prepared myself for a “B-List” comedy, but I instead received a gift of renewed vigor in reducing my carbon footprint. Great film!

Beautiful film. It has humor, action, suspense, romance, and a tear jerker ending.

Funny and cute, as a romantic comedy should be. The song in the pool made me cry. It was beautiful!

Beautiful film. Eerily accurate.

I only discovered this movie last Easter. It’s funny and sweet and imaginative. My kids love it. It’s nice to have a Easter movie besides The Passion. James Marsden is great in it, especially in the school play ventriloquism scene. The themes of family, self acceptance and fulfillment, and friendship, are uplifting. Great watch.
