Too many maps. Way too many maps. Oxford keeps updating this monstrosity every year and they just jam more and more maps in there, so that its literally geographically bursting. It's ridiculous! What I want, is some real opinionated experts telling me what to think about these maps. You know, humans require expert opinion to know what to think, otherwise it's just like looking at a coloring book. Also many of these maps are way too accurate, far too precise and very much overloaded with lots of pertinent information. I also found the juxtaposition between the professional map graphics and the state of the art satellite imagery disorienting (though it could be my bi - focals) but being disoriented is the last thing you want from a good book of maps. So if the Oxford Atlas of the World is really and truly the world 's finest atlas, then let me ask them this: "If it' s so good Oxford, whydo you have to keep re - issuing it every year,
