I love running and I heard about this book on the Rich Roll podcast (check out the podcast). The book uses the most Eurocentric form of storytelling possible. It romanticizes women, indigenous cultures, and bygone runners while poking fun at a lot salt of the earth “bumpkins” and “city slickers” who have some interest in the running universe. Truly not sure about the purpose of the book beyond tales of magic realism and running.
Learned some facts worth researching:-) I am inspired to both run and write. Maybe that’s the purpose.
