Wasted potential for a horror movie. Honestly a sorry excuse for a horror movie, only thing this is gonna scare is fanatic Christians. Not worth watching. The premise is decent, and it could’ve been taken to a lot of more interesting places. The main character, an FBI Agent, does not behave like any competent FBI Agent should, or would. It’s annoying. SPOILERS: There are so many times around Part 3 where she should have called Dispatch, and/or backup. She also shouldn’t have allowed her mother to pull the trigger on the shotgun at the doll. The second she did, she should’ve pulled her own and shot her mother dead. Fucking dead. Then at least her supervisor wouldn’t be dead, alongside his wife. She honestly should have called for backup the second she witnessed her mother kill her associate. She had no dispatch, a phone should still be able to. This agent, has to be the most incompetent FBI agent I have witnessed on film, and the main reason for that is poor writing. Piss-poor unrealistic writing. The second the FBI figured out she was involved, she should’ve pulled from the case and been investigated and questioned herself, with another agent taking over that wouldn’t hesitate to bring her mother in for questioning like she did, and wouldn’t bring just two people to bring her mother in but a proper squad of FBI Agents. In what world does an FBI Supervisor give lead to a case of someone personally involved, and ask them to question their own mother. There’s a reason this doesn’t happen in real life, and what occurs in this film is in of itself a good explanation as to why. There is barely anything scary to at least make the film gratuitous, or gory. Look, it’s not the worse horror movie I’ve ever seen, it’s no Lake Mungo levels of shit. But it’s down there. I actually fell asleep like 4 times watching this movie. That in of itself should tell you how much of a borefest it is. Don’t waste your time. There’s nothing here of interest.
