I used Wimsatt and Brooks " Literary Criticism : A Short History " and Rene Wellek " A History of Modern Criticism " were used for advanced study . David Lodge's 20th Century Criticism " and Modern Criticism Criticism " are indispensable anthogies

Critical approaches to literature

This is one of the greatest films l have seen and ,in my opinion ,ranks with Ben Hur and Ten Commandments . The backdrop of the film is the terror of nazism or fascism that caused the second world war .The orks are Hitler's men who launched the infamous progrom .The greed of the white wizard compares well with the fickle minded intellectuals of our time . Gollum or Smeagol is the most compex villain , sometimes good but all the time possessed by evil . Isuggest viewrs to read The Hobbit and The Lord ofthe Rings first and , if possible , Lord of the Flies .
