I don't see many movies anymore—most are aimed at teenagers who crave sex and violence. 1917 is one of the finest movies I have ever seen. It tells a powerful story with grace and finesse. The horrors of war are in display, but gore is not overdone. The acting is outstanding, the technical aspects well done. Many scenes stand out, there are fine touches throughout the excellent script, and the ending is quite moving. This, I think, is a film that will last.
