What a pleasant change to see a well acted, thoughtful and well produced film which gives both an insight into historical events and shows the dilemmas faced by those in authority on both the Norwegian and German sides. The King is offered a chance to avoid bloodshed in return for collaboration. The build up to the German attack on the roadblock and subsequent battle must be the most realistic and terrifying portrayals ever filmed. All the more surprising to learn that the characters portrayed, major and minor, were real people.
