This was a much better movie than I thought it was going to be. At first, when I saw the previews, I thought: "Oh no, another origin story that's going to be violent and full of language like Black Widow was..." But while it did have some violence, it wasn't nearly as violent as Black Widow - and it had only one swear word in the whole film. All the rest of the movie was full of an amazing plot, awesome visual effects, and a pretty intense "good vs evil" theme. I don't know why do many people are saying it's a bad movie, because it's great! And it leads into the first G.I.Joe movie smoothly, though this origin story does contradict the other two Joe movie origin stories. Personally I look at it as an alternate reality.

I was prepared for a really bad, horribly animated movie when I started watching the new Ice Age. What I got instead was a movie that wasn't great - but it wasn't horrible either. There are a lot of reviews out there that say this movie was trash. I do not agree, and I think part of the reason there are so many negative reviews is because there are several key characters missing. What you should know about this new Ice Age is that Granny is no longer in the pack, and Peaches does not make an appearance. I'm assuming Peaches has started her own herd, and that's why Ellie is trying to control her brothers more. She's likely experiencing empty nest syndrome, or something similar. Diego's girlfriend Shira is not to be seen either, for some reason. And Sid's girlfriend, Brooke, isn't either. I don't know what happened to these key characters, but I'll take a chance and say that Disney and Blu Sky didn't want to animate them in. It also seems Sid is being voiced by a different actor, which takes away from the nostalgia in my opinion. However, the movie itself has an okay story line. Just know that not all the characters are there, some are voiced by different actors, and their character designs are slightly off (like, Diego looks different for some reason). The animation is actually fairly well done, though it might look odd considering the Ice Age movies animation has changed with each movie. As our technology advances, the animation for movies does as well.
