It could be decent but I wish sitcom writers who borrow from hit Brit sitcoms would take the SITUATION that made the Brit one a hit and run with it...NOT the lines nor the quirks from the Brit stars. Look, I know that a large part of the country voted for Trump...but we aren't all that thick. Yes, Americans did overly repeat the 'how you doin' from "Friends" too much but I loved and associated with "Miranda" because of the weird and codependent relationship with her mother. The WHOLE SHOW is really about THAT. THEN Miranda Hart adds her stand-up props to the whole thing breaking the 4th wall, etc. If that doesn't work for Mayim Balik...don't MAKE it. Americans LOVE business owners, Miranda's mom is a posh Brit who would rather her have a job in a department store than be a business owner...and American would think that is crazy. Generational differences, a single woman having a messy house, moms criticizing your clothes, a rich Kentucky mom not understanding new Millennial climate change and values ...those are the things that would add to the situation that she is codependent with her mother in this sitcom. Make it more about that if you want to use the Miranda idea...not just trying to copy the physical comedy and situations that Miranda finds herself in.
