Did it answer what lies beyond White Space? No. It absolutely did not. It had a blockbuster level set, amazing CGI, and costume design BUT felt like watching a B rated movie without the fun and charm. The old man aside, the characters were uninteresting and a lot of what they did made no sense. The captain is the greatest offender of this, until now i still had no idea if he wants to capture the beast or kill it as he was planned to take that route to encounter it from the very beginning and if so, why did he not prepare for it? A laser blaster or rockets which even the pirates had, Or if thats banned, tranquilizer, flash bombs, or anything that's not two pieces of harpoons!
In the end, it's just a B rated version of
"Moby Dick in SPACE!!!!!"
