Adam Sandler possibly in award contention for this one. Could have used a bit more of his usual humor though.

A remake despite the original being animated and you know how remakes go. But the transformation scene at 1:04 is true "movie magic" - a great example of one of the reasons we love movies so much.

Worth seeing just to watch Emily for and hour and a half

As I am a huge fan of Queen I was almost afraid to see this for fear of being disappointed but I really enjoyed it. Obviously it helped having May and Taylor involved in the production. There are some great moments, my favorites being what was supposedly the first singing by the famous Queen three part harmony outside a club where Smile was playing and when Freddie tells the other band members what their lives would have been like without him. And of course the perfect choice of "Don't Stop Me Now" for the end credits. Malik kills it as Freddie despite lip-syncing all the singing and the other actors who played May, Taylor and Deacon are not great but OK as they were chosen for their look alikes not their acting ability. A must see for every fan of Queen.

A story retold with some great acting performances. Elle Fanning is especially good. Very gritty; some scenes are pretty rough and could have been toned down or omitted altogether to make for a "softer" movie. I still enjoyed it however.
