Brave New World is an exciting novel to read. Published by Aldous Huxley in 1932, the novel surprisingly shares many connections to the modern world. The society of World State had been labeled as a utopia, but the disturbing and taboo practices make it seem much more like a dystopian society. In World State, families are a thing of the past, every baby is decanted from a test-tube, and relationships between two individuals are seen as abnormal. As the novel progresses, you learn more about the society and the characters within it. I enjoyed reading the novel, though I wouldn’t think of it as one of my favorites. Readers who enjoy the novel may also enjoy reading Fahrenheit 451 or Nineteen Eighty-Four.
