This was a difficult series to watch. However the story ultimately is the story of triumph and survival during and after the most unimaginable tragedies and trauma. The cinematography and soundtrack are haunting and jarring. And I love the idea of the Underground Railroad imagined as a literal network of subterranean trains and stations where enslaved people, fleeing the cruelty of enslavement, find rest, comfort and support as they journey towards freedom.

OMG!! This is the movie I need for right now. It’s joyous, vibrant, and soulful. The colors, costumes, dancing and singing is top notch. It’s everything a Christmas musical should be and more. It will make my list of classics.
