I was pleasantly surprised by this film because it touches on a few social issues affecting indigenous people. The pacing of the film is slow at times but when it takes a turn its inertia is throttling. The violence in the movie is Tarantino-like and unrelenting. The film is set in the far reaches of Alaska and the characters are just as cold as the environment. This isn’t a “message” movie and it is far from a Hollywood formula movie. Try to guess the next twist in the movie, just try. You’ll be wrong I assure you. That’s what makes the film right in my mind.
