Can’t believe all these positive reviews. I was very disappointed. Weir is a great writer and storyteller but he really missed it on this one. The joking back-and-forth and the convenience of so many things seemed to be written for an eighth grade audience. Yeah there was a lot of science thrown in but the protagonist never convinced me that he really ever had what it took to know and do all the things that he did. He wasn’t believable for me. And the real thing that got me is how does a race of beings they can’t see and know nothing about space or stars or asteroids or radiation or anything be able to get exactly where they needed to be because they had the technology but never needed to use it until now. Completely unbelievable. Bad science. The Martian was a 9. Artemis was an 8.5. Project Hail Mary is a 6 at best.
