Too maudlin for me. The “back story” is too contrived.

I’m a fan of Nordic Noir but this is excruciatingly slow and there are some strange disconnects. There are people behaving strangely in the very first episode but never followed up.

One of the most interesting series on TV, complex ideas, optimistic yet with an undercurrent of sadness, thoughtful and amazing CGI.

Love, love, love this show. I’m unhappy it was cancelled. I’m savoring each episode. The thing is, I only watch procedurals and this was slick, with a wonderful setting.

If there is one reason why this show should not be renewed it’s because of Klara, the female protagonist. She is endlessly eating - yes, probably the director thought it was quirky - and eating clumsily, spewing, spitting, drooling, dribbling. It’s faintly nauseating to watch. A pity, because otherwise the show is fun, Hjerson is likable and the stories are interesting.

Watched only one episode- very slow-moving and boring. Only saving grace was the cute dog. If only golden retrievers could speak, might have saved the show.

I realize the show is deliberately formulaic and I don’t really mind. In this case though, the policeman is unnecessarily rude to Mrs Sidhu all the time. And that grates (culinary reference here).

Sadly, season 2 is tired, repetitive and cliched. Also, what’s with the misogynistic “first wife” phone identifier, like her name is not worth remembering. Haller seems less charming, more fake. Even the “ingenious” solutions to his clients’ crimes are ho-hum. Makes you appreciate Titus Welliver all the more!

Having watched one episode, I would enjoy this show more if the lead character wiped the constant ingratiating grin off his face. On the one hand, he’s a maverick from a minority, on the other, he’s always trying to please the majority by smiling all the time. It gets really creepy and after a while, he begins to resemble Chucky.

How could people not like this movie?? Put off by the reviews, I didn’t watch it when it first came out but then read that it’s having a bit of a revival. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Handsome brooding hero- Fassbender as Harry Hole- without too many boring drinking scenes, amazing scenery, gruesome murders, serial killer but other creepy villains as well. I’d given up reading the Harry Hole novels because the addictions got so annoying, but Fassbender has motivated me to try again.
