It is hard to watch a movie staring Rajnikanth with his character largely failing throughout the second half of the movie. Editing could have been better. Huma's character seems powerless and useless. The music was good. The story is well directed, has a never-spoken message and there are some great performances especially from Rajnikanth, Nana Patekar, Easwari Rao and other notable casts, but it has significantly failed to satisfy the audience. Kaala an odourless Vanilla.
