I loved it. The colours and light. Each scene was like a moving painting. The oddities that were out if place. Would there be electric lamps in such abundance? The empress is utterly beautiful with and without the long hair. Her elegance and melancholy make her presence so mesmeric. She was a woman ahead of her time. Her final 'look" was that of the 20s. The ship like a 20th century cruise liner. Everything seemed a little out of time. And yet so relevant to all time. I shall enjoy thinking about the strange moments. Thank you .

Beautiful film - filled with tension and utter sadness. The move toward hope, vital. Change is coming. The beauty of the greys and silvers with white and black shadow was a glorious way to look the sun of Rome. The movement and direction incredibly powerful as we see Delia dance for her life. It felt like an opera.

The beauty is remarkable. The stillness menacing at times. Cumberbatch fills the screen. He makes us feel fury and utter sympathy. His acting is sublime with great acting from all those around him. What light and vista and tension. Brilliant

I loved this. What could have easily been a straight forward court room drama - became a sympathetic portrayal of 2 people who matter - Who made bad decisions and who may have premeditated a double murder. I don't know but I cared very much about them both. Brilliant
