It’s an okay movie. The animation is nice and most of the characters are at least remotely likable. The story seemed kind of unoriginal though because I’m pretty sure I’ve heard this kind of story before, except the main character wasn’t a royal corgi (hint: it’s a Disney movie). For most of it, I did enjoy. I really like the portrayal of Trump in this movie. He acts the way Trump would act, but in a silly, animated form. I found it to be a pretty accurate representation of him, nothing offensive about his character, just Trump being Trump. With that being said, I still have my problems to go over. I don’t like the awkward song and choreography that Rex was singing and dancing when he fell in love with Wanda. That part was pretty off-putting and me cringe a bit. I also don’t like Prince Philip being such a Scrooge in the majority of the movie. But the main problem is the inappropriate content in some scenes. As this is a kids movie, I don’t think it’s appropriate to show sexual harassment, crotch biting, or fatal violence (I’m talking about the part where Charlie sets the room on fire and almost killed Rex and Wanda. That was pretty crude). I think that if this is rated PG, the tone would settle down a bit. But again, this was nicely done for the most part, so I’ll give 4/5 stars. Now, it’s okay if you don’t agree with me, I’ll certainly understand. It’s just my opinion that this movie was good, and I personally believe that it’s underrated, just a little bit, though.
