If you watch the original 1956 Godzilla movie, then watch Shin Godzilla, you will see how well the producers wanted to compliment the original film. From the way they do the beginning to the End sequence being displayed on screen, they even have the original musical score being used throughout the film. It is a true homage to the original and not a bad one at that!
