Very disappointed in this remake. The only fault we had with the first series was : it was not long enough and the casting of Molly Ringwald as Frannie...This remake is horrible not because of a few changes in the action and for the most part the actors are adequate. Where do I start , if you haven't read the book [10 times like me]the jumping back in forth in the timeline is a terrible distraction. There is no character development, it's unclear why Harold is pissed at the world in general and Stu in particular. Apparently Larry and Nadine have met in a brief encounter, but you never see any interaction until way after the fact. Rita Blakemore and Julie Lawry are major characters. Lucy Swann does not exist .The Rat Man[woman] is is also a featured player The role of Trashcan Man is poorly defined until the final climactic scene . Lloyd Henreid is just weird. The Las Vegas of Randall Flagg is not at all like SK portrayed it .Nick's character really doesn't do mush and there's very little to do with his and Tom Cullen's friendship A lot of "F" bombs for the millennial crowd, what a waste of time ! We had so looked forward to it as it was supposed to be 9 hours as opposed to the 6 in the first attempt and we hoped for a richer experience. We did take advantage of a "free trial" week on CBS All Access., so no money lost. Maybe the new ending by SK will save this mess; I doubt it.
