Show is probably on the verge of being alright if you haven’t read the book. Cinematography is nice. Feels a little like Twilight in the way that the main character is acting like she has no emotions 98% of the time. Everyone constantly just stares at each other, and you can’t even tell how they’re supposed to be acting. Main character turns down her chances of a better life several times which I find incredibly frustrating because no one would act like that if they were actually in her position. I’d say just read the book (I’m in high school and had to read it for my English class) and don’t watch the show. The show is, so far (only on the second season right now, watched so far because I hoped things would get better), things either not in the book at all or in the book and have been severely changed and out of order. Have only watched two seasons and just about to finish the last ep of s2, but I will not be watching season 3. This show is excruciating to watch if you have read the book and have any understanding of human emotions. This is the most frustrated I have ever been with a show in my entire life, especially after the expectations I had after hearing so many good things about it. I would honestly just recommend not to watch it. 1 star for cinematography. Watch something else. 23 hours of my life gone, but at least Serena Joy’s actress was pretty.
