This is one of those movies where you have to think about to be scared. Considering I’m not a huge horror movie fan, I really enjoyed it. PROS: If you want something that will haunt you even after you watch this, I recommend this. This movie was really interesting for me, as it was less jump-scare based and more psychological scary. I seriously love how it was written. I also actually really like the ending. CONS: The jump scares are extremely predictable since they always add that obnoxiously loud, suspenseful music. The beginning is also pretty forgettable. It’s the middle and ending where you really get something. The graphic effects also aren’t that crazy cool for me.

I strongly recommend this book. Hands down, the best children’s book I’ve ever read. What’s great is that the author, Kelly Yang, put SO much effort and creativity in it. Even though the story is about a young 10 year old girl, there is no dull moment and what’s truly amazing is that this story isn’t mainly about love and popularity and mean girls. As an Asian american myself, some moments were absolutely relatable and put a smile on my face. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
