I had not read any reviews going in, and was expecting another tight intense movie like the first one, but this turned out to be a musical. The title should be The Singer, and not Joker. It was totally overdone and pretentious..few parts worked. Phoenix's acting and the screenplay etc were some redeeming aspects. But. it was a misfire and bad choice on the part of the filmmakers for sure.

This was basically like Sixth Sense on steroids. Anne Hathaway and the main guy have some of their best acting which saves the movie but otherwise it is not made to feel very realistic. Interesting concept though.

Ok, let's not take it too seriously or analyze much. It was an entertaining movie with an engaging ambiance, quirky likeable characters, and some unexpected laugh-out-loud humor. But yeah there are stupid unrealistic things like the "hallucinogenic drugs" bit, I don't think a group of people can have the same exact hallucinations. And then, this guy cuts off one of the plane's engines with an axe like he's cutting a cake. But ok, still entertaining especially the blonde girl was so sweet.

They had a cool concept but they didn't know what to do with it, and unable to traverse the depths of their concept, they turned it into a simplistic bipolar humans vs robots thing. Hillary Swank's character was unlikeable right from the start. The protagonist girl didn't seem like someone who was raised by a cool robot but a rather emotionally misguided and confused teen who listens to Keisha and Nikki Minaj or something. I was def rooting for the robots.

Don't believe the positive reviews. This is just another shiny turd from Netflix, I don't know why I'm even subscribed anymore. There's piles and piles of "Netflix original" garbage. Anyway, this movie was incredibly incoherent, disjointed and plain stupid. It will just unnecessarily mess with your mind. Don't waste your time.

Cool movie, beautiful people, but nothing great. Upgrading to 4 stars for Alec Baldwin. Seems like Ed Norton likes to take on speech impediment, mentally challenged character roles which is ok but it'd be nice to see him do a normal role.

It was a messy plot and screenplay, the characters were like dumb robots, but still entertaining because of the special effects and monsters.

An exemplary tale of romance that feels like a mix of Legends of the fall, Silence of the lambs, Godfather and Fifty shades of gray, I'd be surprised if this work of art does not receive an Oscar, heck it should win every award at Cannes too. The actors are totally immersed in their characters especially during the tastefully done explicit scenes, and deserve standing applause at the end of every screening. A total masterpiece of filmmaking that will be etched in history. Netflix has simply outdone itself, bravo bravo!

The girl was cute and charming in her own way, and Mackie was a felt presence. But, it was mostly a waste of time, especially the ending. There is a lot of pretentious diatribe and forced dramatics that are super annoying. There is absolutely no action or adventure in this movie. The prime focus of the movie is that the girl does no want to leave Earth because of emotional investment, but it is so shallow and without a proper backstory to support her.
