Dillagy and Punjab nahi jaon g are similar in tone and storyline. Ackward character goes after affable beauty having different background and education and tries to get her by hook or by crook. And end result is, after so many turns, girl scumbs to the created environment, where side characters spend themselves in building up a hero out of a city goon. Suspense of outcome of relationship and not love holds the people to screen. Except last dialogue of the play, that is marvellously orated Mahwish in almost weepy and husky voice stirs. She is beauty to watch. Hero looks like more like a kabbadi player instead of a lover boy. End could have been more brilliant

This is beautiful play from Pakistan. Inspite of many visible flaws like repetition of dialogues, songs, infusion of mysticism and impoverished story ending, Mahira lifted the play on the basis of her beauty and sympathy generated by another great artist Sumaya. All credit to Rashida for her strong portrayal of ruthless mother that made Shano to shine. Shano is made to suffer for missed opportunities and Khalil lives happy life. His character development is not upto required standards with dithering commitments. The end could have been more suggestive leading it to overwhelming love story instead of just past chapter in the life of writer Khalil ur Rehman. Anyway congratulations to Sumaya and Mahira
