If you had gay friends late 60s early 70s this film hits home. As she said mom always knows. Most fathers could not deal with gay Sons. As one mother said to me we're good Baptists and a small community and we would be embarrassed and shunned by our friends if they knew. Their son was a colleague of mine and I wrote them about what an incredible man he was as i told them of his death This is just one of many stories. To those who say this is a sappy film I just said to say this was a highly charged emotional issue the split families apart and wounded many young men needlessly.
