I'm sad and disappointed that this film didn't capture such a lightly touched on part of Afro-American history, these women did not look white passing and it made it hard to get into the movie. She worked so hard to get this movie going why would she cast so poorly? Halsey a singer, is white passing that's how they looked. "Imitation of Life" a movie about white passing is a good reference, the lead actress was an actual white passing Afro-American. I hope now that the conversation is started sombody will make another movie about white passing and get it right.
