This was a very sad but real story that I related to on a personal level. It serves as a warning for all young people especially JW brothers and sisters who may want to fit in and seek friendships with the world. This story reminded me of my own life growing up. This girl was raised in a strict but loving home but due to her teenage rebelliousness and her wanting to desperately fit in, she got involved with the wrong crowd and unfortunately for her, it cost her her life. How very sad for this young girl and her family.
My story could have ended up just like hers. Because of my poor choices, my family was robbed at gun point and held hostage by the same people I had befriended despite the numerous warnings and pleas from my family not to associate with them. If I had listened and followed the sound advice in the scriptures that warn "bad association spoils useful habits" I could have avoided inviting trouble into my family's home.
My takeaway from Under The Bridge serves as a warning for me to guard my heart, choose close friends and associates very carefully, and to make sure their values are inline with my own. Great series. Very sad outcome.
