I’m a real fan of Comoran Strike and Robin Ellacott but feel this story got lost amongst a myriad of red herrings and a cast of unnecessary characters. There’s no doubt JK Rowling’s ability in creating believable and engaging narrative but her biggest flaw is the somewhat drawn out packaging around a really decent storyline.
I found it difficult at times to keep track of who was who and their relevance. This book could’ve been 1/4 shorter to make it tighter without losing any of its essence.
Overall still a good read but not sure if it was the best use of my time.
