This is going to be an honest review. I played the campaign and I have to say cod went strong with it. Love the gameplay, the decision making, takedowns, and the KGB experience which was awesome. It felt that the campaign was a new experience, but giving that good old cod vibe. I think the best part was that I felt like a real spy and at the same time a soldier fighting in Vietnam throughout the game. The downside about the story is how short it is. I took the evil path (no spoiler :) and at the end although it was awesome I felt that there was no reason to stop the campaign. I mean it only took 4 hrs for me and I thought the way it ended is like you need to gives us a dlc with camping content or else it feels like an unfinished storyline. That storyline which is awesome, but ended right at the climax which doesn’t make sense. It literally feels like the game has to continue or else it is a disappointment.
Zombies: I have been playing zombies since the first map came in WAW and I have to say I was dissatisfied with the zombies experience. I mean it is the same map as the first zombie map in WAW they just expanded on it. That same map we have been getting throughout many cods remaster many times (Recycle garbage). It is important to understand that if this is your first cod zombies game you’ll like it very much, but if you have been playing cod like me since the first games. Then it is the same thing (literally) in Zombies.
Multiplayer: same thing as every cod multiplayer, but with less content at launch. Map design cool, but it just feels like a mini sandbox to fight in which doesn’t have much to do with the storyline. They really could have gone far out with the maps making them feel more like a spy game like KGB headquarter, inside Pentagon or a Vietnam jungle map with cool zip lines and tunnels, but no stick with generic and get bored in a week. For example there is map about a simple mall, nuke town again for the hundreds time, cartel place which doesn’t have to do with the atmosphere of the game, a map with just sand and rocks on it. The two maps which feels good playing is the Moscow one and Miami. I recommend to try those two.
What can make it a better game:
- More campaign content (more than 4hr)
- More Zombies content that is not copy and paste
- more multiplayer maps at launch that also makes sense on what they are based on which is a Spy and war game.
