A great take on the video game. Well worth the wait for the Sonic redesign. I hated the original, and made sure to complain when the trailer came out - so it was only right to get there for the opening weekend. Not disappointed. Carey is amazing. Forget the memories you may have of "The Mask". In this, Carey is at his best. Playful, funny, childish but layered. The film ties together a few of the international differences from the game (Eggman vs Dr Robotnik for example) and leaves it in no doubt that a sequel is on the cards should the Box Office Figures be positive. Whether you're a kid who is new to Sonic, or you've lived through the Sonic Era's - you're going to enjoy this heartfelt, playful and exciting movie.
